“Anything can happen on this canvas; just let the colors go”

Kristine Hasseløy was born in Stavanger, and has lived in Drammen for the past 15 years. In 2004 she showed her pictures publicly for the first time and has since sold on the private market. For the past 7 years Kristine has worked full-time with art production of various kinds. Acrylic, charcoal and pastel chalk are most often used in her latest works, which are often recognized by light, delicate layers of paint combined with strong explosions of color.

A lot of time is spent making each painting personal, with surfaces, structure and layers upon layers of paint. It is scraped down, built up and forms are formed that become more or less delimited. With an interest in interiors, Kristine is concerned with how art can find its rightful place in a room. This is reflected in how she lives and what she likes to surround herself with. Inspiration comes from people's inner journeys, nature and stories from her own local environment. In terms of color and composition, artists such as Jacob Weidemann, Inger Sitter and Kåre Tveter have been sources of inspiration for Kristine. She has experience as general manager of Gunilla Holm Platou's gallery in Drammen and has functioned as a right-hand man and personal assistant to Holm Platou for several years.

The paintings have been featured and written about in magazines such as Rom123, Camilla Pihl Magazine, Vakre Hjem og Interiør, Maison Interiør, Kamille, and recognized through the work of several stylists such as Per Olav Sølvberg and Tone Kroken. Kristine has also collaborated with Norwegian Varier, Slettvoll and Northern. In the fall of 2024, she will exhibit new art in &Tradition's showroom in Oslo

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
